Chamber Home and Garden Show comes to Carson Mall April 20

Twenty-five vendors are set to display their goods and services with Costco, Home Depot and Greenhouse Garden Center taking the center stage as they create vignettes to show what can be done to improve home and garden. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Carson City Freeway landscaping ribbon cutting, walking tour set for April 19

The 3 p.m. ribbon cutting will be at the Northgate Lane Grade Separation, 3700 block of Northgate Lane, followed by a walking tour from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Digital Learning Center launches Tuesday in Carson City

Though a small class, they were mighty and bonded well. Over the course of 2012, they shared many wonderful experiences meeting community leaders and learning about our unique community. Following the graduation ceremony, the official dedication and ribbon cutting of the Carson City Senior Center Leisure Hour Room was held. Mayor Robert Crowell and Senior Center Director Janice McIntosh cut the ribbon as the new graduates looked on.

South Lake Tahoe Mayor Claire Fortier and Edgewood's CEO and president Chuck Scharer gladly cut the ribbon after months of negotiations allowing for future property and building rights in exchange for the public park.

The new quad chair services two new trails. This completes a spending program of $30 million on upgrades, trails and support activities at the Lake Tahoe resort.

We all know the long saga of the Carson City Freeway. In planning for over 50 years, under construction for nearly 10, the freeway has become one of the big punch lines around town as one of those projects that it seems like we’ll never see the tail end of. They’ve been dribbling out freeway segments to us slowly, opening the stretch from Lakeview to Hwy 50 in Spring 2006 and the segment from Hwy 50 to Fairview in Fall 2009.
