Each year, National Read Across America Day is observed on March 2, the birthday of children’s book author Ted Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss. In celebration, many schools often dedicate an entire week as “Reading Week.” In Carson City, grade-schoolers at Fremont Elementary School got to celebrate a week prior to the observance with several community partners and local dignitaries, who visited classrooms to read to students.

Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) has partnered once again with the Reno Aces and Reno 1868 FC to help provide toys for the holidays to charitable organizations in Carson City.

Come see Tuesday night how the best pro-soccer team in the Silver State trains for a match at Pete Livermore Sports Complex. The practice is open to the public and will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. After the training session, players will be available for autographs and photos. KUNR Reno Public Radio earned a national Murrow Award for best sports reporting in the small market radio category this month for Reynolds School of Journalism alumna Stephanie Serrano’s story about Reno 1868 FC. Serrano reported as a student at the Reynolds School on the growing fan base of Reno’s local soccer team.

Two soccer teams founded at nearly the same time will square off in a friendly exhibition match. Western Nevada College's Soccer Club will have the opportunity to play professional team Reno 1868 FC at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Greater Nevada Field in Reno.

The Reno Aces Baseball Club and Professional Sports Catering have revamped and reinvented the menus at Greater Nevada Field in 2017, officials announced Thursday. Additional game day concepts for the 2017 season include numerous brisket and bacon options, specialty hot dogs for every opponent, and an 1868 Burger, inspired by Reno 1868 FC.

The Reno Aces Baseball Club announced Tuesday a one-year local broadcast partnership extension with Reno’s My21TV, part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, INC. My21TV will remain the exclusive English-language broadcast home of the Reno Aces Baseball Club and air 14 Aces games throughout the season.

The Reno Aces Baseball Club and Professional Sports Catering have revamped and reinvented the menus at Bugsy’s BBQ and Duffy’s Ale House within Greater Nevada Field’s premises. Additional game day concepts for the 2016 season include three new signature concession brands and partnerships with local food hotspots, including Wild Garlic pizza, Flocchini sausage and hot dogs made in Carson City and Sierra Meats burger meat.
