Children's Museum Receives Nevada Arts Council Award
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 06/28/2019 - 11:04amThe Children's Museum of Northern Nevada was recently awarded $3500 by the Nevada Arts Council to produce Story Time, a literary arts program for young children. The Nevada Arts Council's support is critical in attracting support from the greater community because of the extreme vetting process used by the NAC and the prestige that comes with being part of a select group of leading cultural institutions. The award was part of Nevada's commitment to the arts in the region which included the Discovery Museum, Artown, Brewery Arts Center, and the Nevada Museum of Art.

"Due to snow and icy conditions overnight and in the early morning hours, I'm ordering all state government offices in Carson City, Washoe County and Douglas County to open at 10 AM today," the governor Tweeted. "Please allow for plenty of time to safely commute to work this morning."

School district spokesman Dan Davis said the professional development day will start on schedule; although weather will continue to be monitored for hazardous travel conditions.

Kenny was born on July 17, 1971, at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, Calif. He moved to South Lake Tahoe, Calif., with his mother, Judy, and brother, Mike, when both boys were toddlers. He attended pre-school at Under the Magic Pine Tree, followed by Meyers and Al Tahoe elementary schools, South Tahoe Middle School, and graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1989.

Challenges to Anyone Who Supported the Record Tax Hike

Nelson used glittering generalities and platitudes to explain that he didn’t really understand matters very well back when he made his promises, even though he’s an experienced lawyer. But now he understands and so has changed his mind.
If he thinks he now understands matters correctly, then he must logically also believe that folks who voted for him based on his promises don’t understand.

The enchanted evening will held at Senator's Castle, Carson High School, on April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This community event is open to all ages of girls. One Princess from each elementary and middle school in the Carson City area will be crowned that evening, and one from a pre-school age group as well. There is no age limit for this event.
Uganda Orphan Choir in Carson City

The message of overcoming and triumph in the face of trying and difficult circumstances will be inspiring. The performance is free.
The Sunday night event kick-off a week of a focus on young people at First Christian Church. Monday, July 14th begins Vacation Bible School with a jungle theme this year. It is also free for children from pre-school through High School. For more information, go to firstchristianchurchfamily.org
Carson City District Attorney's Office presents Mom’s Program awards

The awards were in recognition of the first graduating pre-school class of the District Attorney’s Moms Program and recognition to the moms for learning new parenting and job skills to help them into the future, according to a news release.

Arrested were Tricia Diane Lopez, 26, a pre-school teacher and Albert Eugene Carlson, 35. Each face felony trafficking charges as well as two felony counts of possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance with intent to sell.

As the nurse handed you your newborn infant, there would have been a step by step instruction manual attached to the corner of the blanket specifically written about your child.
