Guests will experience the magic of the famed holiday story come to life. Riders are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas and partake in caroling and a reading of the classic story on their way to the North Pole.

V&T Railway holds casting call for upcoming 2020 Santa’s Drive-Thru Village

The railway is looking for energetic performers to portray elves, chefs, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer in addition to individuals to help direct traffic throughout the event.
V&T Railway offers family-friendly, Halloween-themed spooky railbike rides

Running Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 31, V&T Railway will offer children and adult focused haunted railbike rides at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
Carson City Polar Express 2020 aboard V&T train canceled, replaced with Drive-Thru Village

In its place, V&T Railway will host Santa’s Drive-Thru Village, a socially distanced holiday event, Dec. 11-13 and Dec. 18-24.
V&T Railway to feature special railbike tour events for remaining 2020 season

In addition to the standard Carson River Canyon tour, riders can expect extended hours, themed décor and added entertainment attractions.

As with prior seasons, the 2020 season will include vintage steam train rides from Carson City to Virginia City, Toast of the Canyon wine and beer trains and the popular Polar Express in addition to other themed and special event trains.

The State of the City address is a way community members can be kept up to date on everything going on in our capital city, including achievements, challenges, and everything in between.
Updates included achievements such as the completion of the water pipeline from Douglas County to Carson City, the Complete Streets Project, Tesla’s grant for the Carson City School District, the first new park opening in 12 years, the opening of the Disc Golf course, and more.

Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more. The Polar Express Train Rides are sold out for the rest of the year, but Santa Train express rides are steaming up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the weekend. Read on for details.

Carson City's Polar Express brings a bit of Magic and Christmas Spirit to the Historic Rails

The Polar Express rolled into town on Nov. 15 with the help of the historic V&T Railway Commission, and with it, a certain jolly old man and his magical helpers.

The magical story comes to life when the train departs the Eastgate Depot for an hour-long, round-trip journey to the North Pole.

V&T Railway ends season this weekend with steam, 150th anniversary and Toast of the Canyon trains
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 10/08/2019 - 3:49pmCARSON CITY — V&T Railway will bring its event-filled 2019 season to a close this weekend with a final 150th Anniversary train on Friday, Oct. 11, vintage steam trains on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 and a Toast of the Canyon spirits train on Saturday, Oct. 12 following the steam train.
Carson City area youth groups, organizations sought for 2019 Polar Express role participation

For every night the group provides the required amount of elves, chaperones and works all three trains we will donate $100 to the groups for every night they perform.
