Boys and Girls Club budding artists featured Friday and Saturday at Brewery Arts Center

Dozens of Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada members will showcase their acting, dance and performance art and painting skills Friday and Saturday in a community performance at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

For the second year, the Diving Into the Arts Academy, sponsored by the BAC, has enrolled more than 100 Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada members to its summer arts program classes.

Nevada Arts Council Awards Jackpot Grants to Artists

The Nevada Arts Council has awarded $9,148 in Jackpot Grants to nine Nevada artists and one public institution for arts and arts learning projects. Jackpot grants are awarded on a quarterly schedule and are designed to support arts projects initiated by artists, schools, nonprofit organizations and public institutions. These projects are usually “sudden opportunity events” or applications from groups new to the NAC.
