University of Nevada, Reno Extension is offering a free webinar June 19 to help small-business owners learn about one form of assistance, the Paycheck Protection Plan.

This spring, the occurrence of COVID-19 presented students at Western Nevada College a unique and challenging context for their final project. The Engineering Design class applied problem-solving and engineering design skills to address a real-life scenario in managing the response to the virus.

The Carson City School District will host two showings of a 60-minute documentary titled "Screenagers Next Chapter — Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience" Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Bob Boldrick Theatre in the Carson City Community Center. Rupert’s Auto Body donated a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze to the Sheriff’s Office VIPS for Vets program to support the growing need for transportation services for local veterans. The VIPS for Vets program has grown tremendously over the past two years as it serves to accommodate day-to-day errands for homebound veterans. Carson City’s veterans will continue to have the reassurance in knowing they can rely on VIPS for Vets transport if needed. With the addition of the new reliable vehicle, this service can help more veterans travel greater distances.
