Kiwanis of Sierra Nevada continues adoption upkeep at park
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 5:26pmOn a beautiful brisk Saturday morning, April 30, 2011, Kiwanis of Sierra Nevada members picked up trash, dog deposits and painted at Blackwell’s Pond Park. They were the first service club last year to adopt a Carson City Park.
“Our club has a positive attitude, things are always picking up,” said President elect John Ryals. “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.”
Silver City Plans a Summer Full of Family Fun

The tightknit community of Silver City works together to offer a free summer youth program, monthly community dinners, cultural events, a volunteer library, cooking lessons, and a community garden.
Annual Student Art Exhibition

Works are as diverse as the college's course offerings - from painting and drawing to multimedia art, electronic arts, printmaking, photography, sculpture and pottery.

In September 2010 she was diagnosed with an advanced form of lung cancer. Upon hearing about it, her co-workers started spreading the word about her struggle. Almost immediately a movement began to help Vikki and her family with this struggle. The response was immediate and overwhelming. People from all over the city began to ask what they could do to help, so a benefit fundraiser was arranged.

Jim Gibbons for display in the state capitol, but he is going ahead with his canvas anyway with the hopes of personally presenting his work to the governor.

Join the Tahoe Trail Blazers Outdoor Adventure Club for fun runs, obstacle courses, bounce house, pottery painting, food and drinks,and lots more fun for families in support of kids' health and fitness. There will be a half-mile and mile race. The Edmonds Sports Complex is located at 1555 Livermore Lane in Carson City.

Through syncopated rhythm, men young and old brought their down shovels and hoes onto the weeds, effectively cutting them off from existence. On the other side of the school grounds, women and children were picking up trash, repairing the track circle and supplying everyone with an unconditional amount of pizza and water.
This event was an Eagle Scout Project headed by David McMasters on June 22 to improve Fritsch Elementary School’s track and playground for generations to come.
