Community Leaders enjoy Reading Week at Bordewich Bray Elementary School

During the week of November 16-20, Bordewich Bray Elementary had a Fall Reading Week to promote literacy in the home, at school, and in the workplace. Mrs. Michele Cacioppo’s kindergarten class named their week “Read to Succeed” week.

Join THE HOME TEAM as we walk the Nevada Day Parade and hand out small flyers for a big cause to the largest audience in the state. We line up on:

Look for the 1936 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck with banners. U.S. Bank will be there. Kiwanis of Carson City will be there. DCFS will be there. CASA will be there. Your organization can join THE HOME TEAM by sending one representative. Let's stand up (and walk) to get the word out!

Walk the Nevada Day Parade with Child's Journey Home

Have you ever wanted to be in a parade? Here's your chance!
The Carson City Foster Family Support and Recruitment Coalition, see our website here, will have an entry in the Nevada Day Parade again this year and is calling for volunteers to walk with us and hand out flyers telling folks to come talk with Foster Family recruiter Lori Nichols about Foster Care at the FamFest after the parade.

Occupiers plan protest at NV Day parade

As part of the national Occupy Your Capitol event, local participants of the Occupy movement will gather Saturday in Carson City. Tasha Costa, an organizer of the Occupy Carson contingent, said participants will scale down the demonstration in honor of the annual Nevada Day celebration, which will be happening downtown at the same time.
