Schools and most all state, local and national government offices are closed for the day. Ahead, skies are clearing and the storm overnight has begun to move out. After 10 a.m. the National Weather services says we will have sunny skies with a high of 39.

Directors Address Library Consolidation Issues

Our goal is to provide our community a better understanding of the types of libraries in Carson City. It is true there are libraries who serve the public in Carson City, but Carson City Library is the only “public library.” The other libraries are not “public libraries” and here is how they differ:
First Nationwide Test of The Emergency Alert System on Nov. 9
Submitted by editor on Wed, 11/02/2011 - 12:34pmOn November 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time and 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the federal government will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS). The test will last up to three and a half minutes. During this period, regularly scheduled television, radio, cable, and satellite shows will be interrupted as the system is being tested.
