'The Odd Couple' from a woman's POV, Greenhouse Project fundraiser, music and more this weekend around Carson City region

Heading into the weekend, there’s an abundance of activities around the capital city region over the next three days. The Brewery Arts Center hosts a female version of "The Odd Couple." Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. Dale Poune will perform at Bella Vita Bistro, plus comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Nevada Caucus on Saturday, an open house at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, a Latin-themed concert at the community center and more. When half the cast of “Murder on the Oriental Rug” bails out, the remaining performers are stuck playing all the roles. During the first act, you’ll meet a Shakespearean actor with a drinking problem, a washed-up former child star, a bimbo with a short memory, and a hapless costumer who finds herself onstage — playing a man.

The Proscenium Players present 'Polter-heist: A Hauntingly Hiliarious Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show' in the Pinion Room of the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino for three weekends, starting Feb. 13. For Friday and Saturday showings the doors open at 5:45, and the one champagne brunch showing on Feb. 22 will begin at 12:45pm. Tickets are $35- $38 and must be bought in advance.

Proscenium Players, Inc. and the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino in Carson City invite you to “The Wedding from Hell!” a murder mystery dinner theater show.
Performance dates are Friday, Jan. 31, Feb. 1, 8, 14, and Saturday, February 1, 8, 15 at 6 p.m. and a Sunday Brunch matinee on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

January 18, 2013 - 6:00pm Put on your best cruise wear and get ready for hi-jinks and murder on the high seas. Tickets are now on sale for Proscenium Players’ “Murder on the Lust Boat” at the Gold Dust West Casino and Hotel, 2171 E. William St., Carson City.
Set sail with a dimwitted captain at the helm, a perky activities director with a lustful itinerary and a wacky boatload of likely suspects on a murder mystery cruise that spoofs “The Love Boat.” The show pokes fun at crazy on-board activities and no-talent entertainers. In the end, someone is murdered and it’s up to the audience to guess the culprit.
