This decision by owners Chef Charlie and Karen Abowd, comes in the wake of a fire that occurred March 28, and the subsequent inability to negotiate a settlement with the insurance company that would cover reconstruction costs.
5,000 Lahontan cutthroat trout to be placed in Lake Tahoe this weekend
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 10/03/2019 - 1:27pmFor the first time ever, the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery will release 5,000 large Pilot Peak Lahontan cutthroat trout into their home waters at Lake Tahoe this Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Over three days, the 12 to 14-inch sized trout will be placed in the water, and the public is invited to two of those historic, interpretive stocking events during the Fall Fish Festival at Taylor Creek.
Carson City area students participate in International Walk to School Day

The day is celebrated globally and involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, it has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration each October.

For anglers that fish Topaz Lake, you have until the end of the month to wet a line. As of October 1st, the lake will be closed until January 1, 2020. There is some speculation into next years fishing season.
Historic Transcontinental Motor Convoy to roll Thursday through Carson City

One of those reminders will be evident once again on Thursday, Sept. 12 to commemorate the Centennial Celebration of the arrival of then Lt. Colonel Dwight D. Eisenhower who joined the convoy to test the shape of America’s roads and military vehicles as part of the first U.S. Army Transcontinental Motor Convoy that started in Washington, D.C. and ended in San Francisco.

With the centennial celebration of women’s voting rights on the horizon, the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office is excited to launch its “Nevada Women’s Cultural Resource Project,” which will help tell the story of women’s suffrage and social history in Nevada.

New York Playwright, Opera Librettist Comes to Silver City Artist in Residency Program

While he's here in August and September, he hopes to draft a 70-minute, spoken, dramatic monologue for a male performer about carpentry, family, and faith. The first column defined the public interest as mainly maximizing economic growth. That piece and the second showed that the economic policies, practices and institutions that maximize growth also promote fairness among individuals. They also debunked obsessions with income inequality.
Here I focus on the revival of progressivism and liberal statism, plus the addition of political correctness (PC).
