In conjunction with the Nevada State Fire Marshal, Fire Departments statewide, and the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada, the Carson City Fire Department, Fire Prevention Division is preparing for the week-long campaign promoting fire safety education and awareness.

A tradition that began decades ago at CHS has seniors jumping out of bed still wearing their pajamas, grabbing their blankets, and heading off to the CHS football field to arrive by 6 a.m.

No longer are students allowed to possess their earbuds at school let alone use them during breaks or at lunch time. Accessing cell-phones during class may also result in confiscation, delivery to the office, and a call home to have the parent or guardian come and personally pick it up from the office.

Seeing as the annual parade is still months away, I’m going to side with ‘The Taste’ purely for its timeliness. With over forty local eateries participating, multiple raffles at downtown shops, and seven bands rocking every corner of the event, it’s practically impossible to have a bad time. This might be the biggest happening in town, but it’s by no means the only good time: read on for all this weekend’s options.
