On April 25 it was again the topic of another public meeting at the school. This time the meeting was called by the neighbors, and drew over 200 highly interested people, along with the mayor, two candidates for mayor, a supervisor, a candidate for supervisor, a reporter, a retired reporter, and other retired reporter also a candidate for supervisor.

Reconstruction of downtown corridor moving forward
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Wed, 01/13/2016 - 6:42pmThe reconstruction of Carson Street in the downtown corridor will be proceeding as planned this year, said Carson City Transportation Manager Patrick Pittenger.
Construction is expected to begin in March and last until November, Pittenger said, but the project is not going to interfere with Nevada Day Parade festivities.
By then, he said, all of the messy work will be finished and what’s left will be mostly clean-up items.
“We will be open for Nevada Day,” Pittenger said. “When we’re done, Carson Street will be one lane in each direction.”

Draft of Carson City Arts and Culture Master Plan now available for review
Submitted by editor on Tue, 10/20/2015 - 4:09pmThe Carson City Cultural Commission has been working with Ms. Kendall Hardin, Idea Factory to develop an Arts and Culture Master Plan for Carson City.
This plan was an outgrowth from the Commission’s public workshop that occurred last month with Ms. Hardin. During this workshop, the Commission was able to reach a general consensus on the policies, content, and overall direction of the Master Plan. Many of the ideas generated at the workshop have been incorporated into the DRAFT Arts and Culture Master Plan being released Tuesday by Carson City.

Then the doctor came out and informed me that she felt my friend had a brain tumor causing the seizure, because my friend was not responding to the anti-epileptic medication administered to her. The doctor said the only way to be sure was a three thousand dollar CT scan or MRI.

Silver Springs Airport Dedication
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 07/09/2015 - 3:21pmSilver Springs, NV – Silver Springs Airport was the recipient of a $700,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration and sponsored by Lyon County. With these funds, the Silver Springs airport was able to increase the size of the taxiway and rehabilitate the runway.
These two improvements are vital to the overall master plan to the airport and further enables economic growth and aviation needs to the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center.
BLM to Transfer Public Lands to Carson City by end of May

Approximately 5,400 acres will be included in the transfer and are located throughout Carson City. The lands include the Prison Hill Recreation Area, Silver Saddle Ranch, parcels in the Goni Canyon area, parcels near Carson City's Sanitary Landfill, and others.
