String of fraudulent check-cashing throughout region comes to an end in Carson City with arrest of New Jersey man

A 42-year-old New Jersey man was arrested in the 3400 block of Market Street for five felonies including attempting to obtain money under false pretenses, forgery by uttering a forged instrument, and obtaining and using the person ID of another for an unlawful purpose.

Carson City Supervisors discuss funding critical projects with water rate increase

The Carson City Board of Supervisors held a discussion regarding a wastewater and water rate increase in order to fund critical projects such as the Quill Treatment Plant, which had provided 50 percent of the water for the city as a whole and now is not being fully utilized due to needing upgrades and rehabilitation.

Unemployment in Silver State hits all-time low

The January 2020 unemployment rate in the Silver State was 3.6 percent, making the month an all-time low, according to figures released Wednesday by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

Carson City arrests: Woman found sleeping in vehicle reported stolen

A 35-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.

A 36-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City Jail for two felony warrants alleging grand larceny of a motor vehicle out of Carson City and being a fugitive from justice, issued out of Placer County, Calif.

New events center, potential casino sale could boost prospects for South Tahoe market

STATELINE — Mont Bleu, a resort that has gone by three names and had five owners in 41 years, is playing a central role in the future of the South Lake Tahoe gaming market.

Eldorado Resorts CEO Thomas Reeg said the Reno-based company will need to sell at least one of the three casinos it will own in Tahoe once a $17.3 billion merger/buyout of Caesars Entertainment is completed early next year.
