Carson City Health and Human Services offers COVID-19 holiday celebration guidance for Quad counties

As the risk for COVID-19 transmission continues to increase, Carson City Health and Human Services is encouraging residents to avoid attending or hosting holiday celebrations with those outside of your household and utilizing lower risk activities to celebrate the holiday with those outside of your household.

Silver City Arts’ Holiday Show and Sale Features Music, Craft Making, Art

Silver City Arts group's Saturday, Dec. 7 holiday event from noon to 4pm includes music by cellists Diane Kotik and Becky Crowe, a holiday craft activity for all ages led by Erich and Chali Haugen, and complimentary sweets.

If you’d rather be indoors, the Carson Mall is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair, and at noon will celebrate the grand opening of Ogres-Holm Pottery. Celebrate a Country Christmas with Mary Kaye and the Kaye Sisters in Genoa or get your Celtic fix at the Brewery Art Center with a performance by County Clarke. The clock is ticking for last minute shoppers. Luckily, Carson City has great options for everyone on the list. Telegraph Square in downtown will be hopping with a Santa parade, vendors, and a pirate ship, in addition to great shops. The Brewery Arts Center is hosting a weekend-long art sale with one of a kind options throughout the campus. Art is a great gift, and making it is even more fun. Carson City Pottery is holding an open house today; a gift certificate for a pottery class is perfect for all skill levels.

Pines are the focus of holiday program for families at Nevada State Museum

Holiday crafts that celebrate the Nevada pine trees are on the agenda for the December program “Pines are Fine” at the Nevada State Museum, Carson City from 10 a.m. to 3.pm. Saturday, Dec. 12. No reservations are needed and guests of all ages are welcome.

Yearbook "Garage Sale"

Visitors to the annual Carson High School Holiday Crafts Fair will also have a chance to look through the school’s yearbooks which date to the 1920s and high school newspapers dating back to 1950.
In addition to viewing these unique historical archives, visitors may buy yearbooks from past years in this “Garage Sale” fundraiser. All money raised will benefit the school’s publication class which prints the Carneta yearbook and maintains the online Senator News newspaper.
