On Friday, the Greenhouse Project held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new outdoor classroom which will be used to host both students from Carson High School as well as community classes on gardening and agriculture.

Over the last few years Dayton Urgent Care has been giving back to the community and has partnered with Terri Gahr, who works in the schools and is the Dayton Area Resource Coordinator of Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey counties. Carson City's Pioneer High School students assemble Thanksgiving baskets for those in need

On Nov. 4, 1963, President John F. Kennedy issued Proclamation 3560, one of the Thanksgiving proclamations given by the U.S. president every year. Sadly, a little more than two weeks later, President Kennedy was assassinated.

This makes his final proclamation all that more poignant. In it he wrote, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
