Have A Heart fundraiser for Carson City area FISH a huge success

Thank you to everyone who made the Friends in Service Helping, 8th annual Have A Heart fundraiser a success. Due to the generosity and kind-heartedness of the community, this year was the most successful yet!

Bella the Yorkie named 'Cutest Dog in Carson City' 2nd, 3rd place winners also announced

UPDATED: The winner of the Bret Andreas State Farm’s Cutest Dog of Carson City contest is Bella, the cutest Yorkie Poo, whose owner is Stan Jones. The contest was held on Saturday, July 27, to benefit Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

Sierra Veterinary Hospital of Carson City a network partner for nonprofit Pets of the Homeless

The national nonprofit, Feeding Pets of the Homeless, welcomed Sierra Veterinary Hospital in Carson City as its first donation site a decade ago. Since then the hospital has collected more than 1,600 pounds of pet food and supplies from their clients and the community.

Pets of the Homeless wellness clinic at Carson City's FISH vaccinates 92 pets

The Pets of the Homeless annual wellness veterinary clinic at Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, on Saturday May 19 in Carson City was a success, organizers say.

Wellness Clinic Vaccinates 73 Pets

Pets of the Homeless wellness veterinary clinic at FISH on Saturday, May 20, was a success. Genevieve Frederick, founder of Pets of the Homeless and sponsor of the clinic, announced that 73 pets where seen and are now safe from infectious diseases. Dr. Gary Ailes of Sierra Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Mike Pulver of Timberline Animal Hospital and his staff, and Dr. David Kowalek and Dr. Micaela Kowalek of the Humane Society provided services.

Celebrity Waiters Make FISH Celebration a Success

FISH, also known as Friends in Service Helping, would like to thank all the celebrity waiters and their guests who made the 2015 Have a Heart Celebration on May 16 a huge success. Community members raised over $30,000 for the human services organization. All of the donations will be used to fund FISH’s programs for the homeless and hungry, including a food bank, a family dining room, two homeless shelters, and a clinic.
