Feeding Pets of the Homeless

Pastor Tim Plummer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Missionary Area Director, has once again brought Christmas trees to Carson City to support FCA. Christmas is fast approaching, and most agree it is the best time of the year. The holidays can be a difficult time for many, but it does not have to be this way.

Carson High School's NJROTC Drill and Color Guard team competed in their first ever ‘virtual’ drill competition hosted by University of North Carolina ROTC program. The various teams’ performances were captured on video and sent to the University for judging.

Coldwell Banker Select real estate agents serving Northern Nevada delivered 435.8 pounds of pet food to Friends in Service Helping, or FISH, a Carson City-based social services organization and pet food provider site for Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will get underway at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, for Carson City Mayor and native Nevadan Robert “Bob” Crowell.

UPDATE: On Wednesday, by executive order, Governor Steve Sisolak ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and State public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, October 29, 2020 as a mark of solemn respect and in remembrance of Carson City Mayor and native Nevadan Robert “Bob” Crowell, whose memorial is being held Thursday.

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national non-profit organization dedicated to feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless population, is hosting its 11th annual Give a Dog a Bone Week, a national event to collect pet food and supplies for those in need, from Aug. 10-16.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Carson City, Nev., received a $3,000 grant from the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation to provide financial assistance towards helping those in Northern Nevada.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless welcomes DeBug Computer into its Donation Site community for pet food and supplies that will be delivered to local food banks, homeless shelters or homeless encampments. Donations may be taken to DeBug’s Carson City location at 1817 N. Stewart Street No. 30, or its Carson Valley location at 1560 U.S. Hwy 395 N. #C in Minden.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless, a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Carson City, Nev., received an $83,000 grant recently from the Lazin Animal Foundation, to provide financial assistance toward emergency veterinary care to more than 220 bully breed dogs in 2020.

A fashion show sponsored by DV8 Salon Studio to benefit Pets Of The Homeless will be presented at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City on Saturday, August 17 at 1:30 p.m. Trendy and unique fashions will be featured by Stein Mart with hair and make up being done by DV8 Salon studio, with guest makeup artist Regina Wolford from “Wake up with Make up.”

UPDATED: The winner of the Bret Andreas State Farm’s Cutest Dog of Carson City contest is Bella, the cutest Yorkie Poo, whose owner is Stan Jones. The contest was held on Saturday, July 27, to benefit Feeding Pets of the Homeless.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Carson City Fair, Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung car show, a fundraiser bike ride, cooking classes, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides on Saturday and much more!

Carson City, NV – Realty Executives Nevada’s Choice was welcomed in June 2019 by the national nonprofit, Feeding Pets of the Homeless as a Donation Site. Donations of pet food and supplies can be taken to 800 E. College Parkway, Carson City, NV and will then be delivered to a local food bank, homeless shelter or homeless encampment. Feeding Pets of the Homeless is the only national network focused completely on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless.

So much media attention is given to shopping this time of year, and area small business advocates have been encouraging folks to shop locally during the holiday season.

But don't stop there.

The national nonprofit, Feeding Pets of the Homeless, welcomed Sierra Veterinary Hospital in Carson City as its first donation site a decade ago. Since then the hospital has collected more than 1,600 pounds of pet food and supplies from their clients and the community.

A fundraiser to benefit Pets of the Homeless will feature pre-sales of Yogurt Beach gift cards valued at $10, $15, $20 and above.

CARSON CITY — The Reno Corvette Club answered the call to fill a pickup with pet food at Michael Hohl Motor Company for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

The National Feeding Pets of the Homeless Give a Dog a Bone week returns for its eighth year, August 6-12, 2017. The Carson City based nonprofit organization Pets of the Homeless, focused exclusively on feeding and providing veterinary care to pets of the homeless, leads the charge across the country to collect pet food from the public.

Sierra Foot and Ankle was welcomed by the national nonprofit, Pets of the Homeless as a new Donation Site. Donations of pet food and supplies can be taken to 2350 S. Carson St., Suite 3, Carson City or 1516 Virginia Ranch Rd., Suite 1A, Gardnerville that will be delivered to a local food bank, homeless shelter or homeless encampment. The program is an ongoing national effort to regularly supply donated pet food to local people who cannot afford to properly provide for their pets.

The weekend has arrived and there are festivals everywhere. A Basque Festival and Picnic can be found in Gardnerville. Bowers Mansion hosts a Bluegrass Festival for the 31st year. Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival returns to King Beach for the weekend. The Annual Jazz and Beyond Music Festival has infiltrated the whole valley with musicians. SATURDAY:

I hope you like live music, Carson City, because tonight you’ve got plenty of it. No matter what your style, there is someone for you. Take the kids to the Nevada State State Train Museum for Lucky Diamond and the Gents of Jive or to the McFadden Plaza for an outdoor concert with Musicole. Leave the kids with a sitter if you’re going to head to Living the Good Life for some outdoor fun with CV-41 or inside the Westside Pour House with reggae group Whiskey Lung. Jazz and Beyond brings a free outdoor concert to the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center this evening. It’s the Carson Dreamers tonight, but you can go HERE for all of the upcoming music festival events. The Nevada Arts Council welcomes Justin Favela’s new exhibit to their OXS Gallery with a reception and talk by the artist.

This is no sleepy Sunday. Genoa will be a fun place to explore with their monthly Sweet Sippin Sunday stroll and Art in the Park. Jazz and Beyond Music Festival continues with four bands out at the Silver Saddle Ranch in conjunction with a celebration of 20 years of the Quality of Life Initiative.
