Nevada Division of Environmental Protection seeks updated recycling information from Nevada businesses

CARSON CITY, NV – The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s (NDEP) recycling program, Nevada Recycles, is updating its online database to better reflect the recycling services provided by various businesses in the State of Nevada. By identifying which businesses recycle what items, Nevada Recycles will attempt to pair customers with recyclers more efficiently, helping to establish a better rate of recycling throughout the State.

Capital City Farm Days in Carson City to teach youth about Nevada agriculture

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s 4-H presents Capital City Farm Days, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 11-12 at the Carson City Fairgrounds and Fuji Park Exhibit Hall, 601 Clear Creek Road in Carson City.

There will be about 30 presenters teaching elementary-age youth about Nevada agriculture, where food and fiber come from, and environmental issues related to agriculture.

New Business Grand Opening in Sparks

Surf Thru Express Car Wash is pleased to announce the opening of its newest location at 2050 Pyramid Way, Sparks. This is Surf Thru Express Car Wash’s 18th location and their third location in northern Nevada. Surf Thru Express Car Wash opened in Carson City in 2016 and in Reno the following year. Enhanced spatial cognition and brain power evolves via natural selection, an elaborate study of hundreds of mountain chickadees in the Sierra Nevada has found. Using passive integrative transponder tags in combination with radio frequency identification-equipped feeders, scientists at the University of Nevada, Reno have tracked feeding behaviors and measured learning and memory of these non-migratory birds that live year-round in the high-elevation forest northwest of Truckee, Calif.
