Douglas High School

The students of Grace Christian Academy (GCA) in Minden recently visited various local community service agencies and organizations to volunteer their time as part of the school’s Second Annual Serve-a-thon. GCA dedicates a week each school year to serve agencies and organizations within the area. Local businesses, corporations as well as private donors pledge money donations to the school in the fundraising effort that has the added benefit of developing character within the students.

The spirit of Christmas will be celebrated with a holiday concert featuring the Western Nevada College concert choir and the Douglas High School Madrigal Singers Tuesday.
The choirs, directed by musician and DHS band director Bill Zabelsky, will feature a myriad of fine music including "The Snow Carol," "All on a Cold Winter's Night," Earlene Rentz's "Agnus Dei," and a Mac Huff arrangement of the popular "Home for Christmas.

The Carson Senators will play the Bishop Manogue Miners in the regional semifinals on Monday night. The winner of this game will play either Reed or Douglas High school next Saturday for the regional Title game.

This is Carson and Reno High school's last regular season Game. Carson went on to win it 42 to 28. Carson high schools next Home game is next Friday at 7:00 pm at Carson high school. Reno's Next Game is next Friday at 7:00pm where they will be playing Douglas High school.

The Carson Valley Inn is serving a Free Spaghetti Lunch for all Veterans and Active Military – plus one guest – on Veteran's Day, Friday, November 11. The event will be held in the Valley Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
