Bike to Work Week Party 2014

You really couldn’t ask for better weather here in Carson City for encouraging people to get out on their bikes. Last night we had 94 adults and 29 children signed in for our Westside Cruiser ride, and the miles and trips are really starting to rack up for the Bicycle Commuter Corporate Challenge. To say thank you for all your hard work, we’re going to throw you a street party!
Did Rollie Die in Vain?
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 05/12/2014 - 12:19amLast year's callous, unnecessary killing of Rollie, the tiny pet dog, at the city animal shelter justifiably ignited community outrage. This one event resulted in a $41,000 settlement to Rollie's owner for the wrongful death of her dog, paid, of course, by Carson's residents and business owners. The terminated animal shelter manager, under whose watch Rollie died, is suing city taxpayers for wrongful discharge from her position.
Tahoe Interior Design Business Honored in NYC

McCall owns the Decorating Den Interiors franchise in Lake Tahoe.
Buatta joined McCall at a dinner at the famous Four Seasons Restaurant to celebrate McCall completing her year as Decorator of the Year for Decorating Den Interiors. She was joined by company chairman James S. Bugg, Sr. and his wife Carol Donayre Bugg, vice president of design.

From 10am-4pm the museum will have its first annual Holiday Craft Sale. They will be featuring Carson City Pottery which is housed in the museum. Staff and students will be giving demonstrations and selling work for last minute holiday purchases. In addition, the museum gift shop will be having a one day only sale, 20% off for members and 10% off for non-members. Admission to the sales are free. Limited vender space still available. Elks Lodge Christmas party for needy children

Nevada Street, Carson City. It is a free event for ages 0 – 12 years old. Parents are welcome to accompany them.

By wearing red ribbons and participating in community events, young people pledge to live sober and thus healthier, lives.
During this year’s Red Ribbon Week, Healthy Communities Coalition asks adults to respond to the growing epidemic of prescription drug misuse among youths by keeping medications locked up, and properly disposing of old medications.
