Celebrate with some fresh produce from the first-of-the-season Sierra Chef Farmers Market in Gardnerville’s Lampe Park. ‘Explore Summer Programs’ at the Carson City Library will introduce you to some options for your kids during the long break. Muscle Powered invites you to participate in their ‘Ride of Silence’ to bring awareness to the importance of sharing the road; meet at Telegraph Square at 7 p.m., and don’t forget your helmet.

Trash Mob to clean up Highway 50 bike path this Saturday

High Wheel Adventure Comes to Carson City

A father and daughter team are riding their penny farthing bicycles, also known as “high-wheels” or “ordinaries” across the country. Randy and Amy Oleynik passed through Carson City on Wednesday while re-creating the historic ride of Thomas Stephens, the first person to ride a bicycle across North America in 1884, also done on a penny farthing.

Co-Founder of non-profit organization biking across country to raise awareness about addiction, riding through Carson City

Cross-country cyclists make Boys and Girls Club stop ahead of Friday night WNC celebration

Members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity rolled into Carson City Friday as part of a cross-country bicycling tour — Journey of Hope — to support people with disabilities. The bikers made a quick stop at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada on Friday and have now pedaled their way to Western Nevada College for an evening filled with events and entertainment.

The program provides ample opportunity to cyclists of all levels to maintain or build strength as well as improve speed and stamina.

Carson City wins tourism grants for mountain bike promotion, art walk, MAC and powwow

With the Epic Rides Off-Road Series mountain biking race set for this summer, the Carson City Visitors Bureau can pump up the fat tire frenzy along with its promotion thanks in part to a $4,000 grant, among 65 approved for funding from the state’s rural tourism program, Nevada Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison announced Wednesday.
