Happening Saturday: Lions Club hosts annual White Cane Day

October 14, 2023 - 10:00am Saturday, October 14th has been designated “White Cane Day” by the Carson City Host Lions Club. Lions will be available at the Market Street WalMart and Smith’s Food and Drug on East William Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to bring awareness to the public of the sight preservation programs the Lions support, and to raise funds to support vision preservation as part of the annual White Cane Day.

October 15, 2022 (All day) The Carson City Host Lions Club will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its founding on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino with a Gala and banquet. Special guest speaker, Past International Director George L. “Mick” Barrus, will address the group.
Lions Club Hosts Successful Kids’ Fishing Day

The Carson City Host Lions Club hosted the Annual Kids’ Fishing Day at Baily Pond in Fuji Park on Saturday, May 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event provided a good opportunity to introduce kids under the age of 12 to fishing and conservation. The Boy Scouts of Troop 33 and volunteers from the Douglas County Kids Fishing Derby helped prep the fishing poles and gear for the kids. About 75 children and their families attended.
