The public is invited to a Coffee and Conversation forum with Mayor Bob Crowell at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada on Thursday, May 27 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department, is pleased to announce the return of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West to entertain our citizens.
The free concert will be held on Wednesday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bob Boldrick Community Center. Mayor Bob Crowell, a Navy Captain and veteran, will introduce Major Keith Bland, Commander of the band.

Food for Thought, a program that helps feed homeless children in the Carson City region, will hold a fundraiser, Coconuts for Kids, on May 22 at the Governor's Mansion from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Hawaiian-themed fundraiser will have hula dancers, authentic island food and an auction. All are welcome to the event.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors yesterday voted to proceed with investigating the lease or purchase of the Fireside building (or another similar structure) for the purpose of creating a business resource center. (You can replay the live blog of the meeting here.)

Candidates for Carson City School Trustee in Districts 1 and 6 will assemble in Senator Square at Carson High School, at 6 p.m. Monday, May 3 to discuss their views on the issues facing the school district. The public is invited.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce is presenting the third in its series of Primary Candidate Forums.

“We’ve never presented a forum for the school trustees, but because there were so many qualified and interested candidates this year, we were asked to present the trustees to the public in an open forum,” said Chairman Jim Smolenski.

The 3rd annual "Carson City Clean Up" sponsered by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce took place on Saturday April 10th. There was a good turn out of volunteers for the annual event, JC Pennys and the Casino Fandago being were well represeted. Rob Joiner, candidate for City Supervisor in Ward 1, was also on hand with a few of his crew trying to make the highway 50 interchange a little less of an eye sore.
The Chamber's Executive Director, Ronni Hannaman, welcomed everyone who attended and had the Chamber supply coffee, water, safety vests and hats.
