Join RSVP (the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) in the first of three of its major carnival and fair fundraisers of the year beginning Thursday May 5 through Sunday May 8 at at Mills Park. The annual Mother's Day Spring Fair features major carnival rides, games, concessions arts, crafts, novelties and lots of food. And as what has become customary, Mom's get to ride all the carnival rides for free on Sunday, Mother's Day.

Grand Opening of Carson Lanes in Carson City Aug. 7-8

That's why it will celebrate with a huge weekend open house, complete with contests, kids carnival, dance demonstrations, games, live music, a dunk tank and $2,000 in free prize giveaways.
The fun begins Saturday, Aug. 7 with bowling and happy hour deals and random gift card drawings throughout the day. A ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
The classic rock band Band Intent will play from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The Nevada Democrat and the Senate Majority Leader strolled through the park and was greeted by well-wishers, supporters and even a couple of critics who were polite and cordial.

Don't play with fireworks in the forest, in the trees or in the neighborhood. Don't drink and drive. Don't lose your cool. Hydrate. Stay away from any warm potato salad that has sat in the sun for more than two hours; relax and enjoy the scenery and people around you.
