Carson City deputies arrest mentally ill man for domestic battery, obstruction

A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Airport Road and Woodside for domestic battery first and obstructing a public officer.

According to the report, the man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a domestic battery in progress. Dispatch advised that the suspect was hitting the reporting party.

Car versus Bus vehicle accident reported at College and Lompa Friday evening

An accident between a bus and a vehicle was reported in the area of College and Lompa just before 5 p.m. on Friday evening.

Dispatch reported that a vehicle struck the bus before two suspects from the vehicle fled on foot. People on scene reported someone at the scene involved with the crash appeared intoxicated.

However, once deputies arrived all individuals involved with the accident were still on scene and spoke with deputies.

Deputies are on scene providing traffic control.

Carson City man arrested on warrants for alleged assault with machete, firearms

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 4000 block of Furnace Creek Road on five felony warrants including three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of domestic battery with a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest report, Michael Craig Henson Jr. was arrested on the original crime, which involved the use o a firearm and machete.

Dog saved from drowning at Lake Tahoe by police and citizens dies later from injuries

An injured Siberian Husky that was saved from drowning by South Lake Tahoe Police officers and others after being found in the freezing cold lake water Saturday, sadly died later Sunday at a local veterinarian hospital. The police department and the dog's owners say they are grateful for all those who helped rescue the animal in the unfortunate incident.

Carson City Sheriff: marijuana-related shooting involving multiple minors brings new arrests

On January 25th, shortly before 8 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center regarding two males who had arrived with reported gunshot wounds. One victim was treated for minor head injuries, while the second victim was transported to Renown Medical Center by Careflight for treatment. Both have since been released from the hospital.

Wine Walk, Super Bowl parties, standup comedy, karaoke and more: Carson City area readies for upcoming weekend

Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Last week, I wrote about overwhelm and how to approach it. But, there’s one part of the process of overcoming overwhelm that will trip you up if you don’t understand it - setting priorities.

Priorities fall under a number of categories:

Suspect who stole purse, credit cards from car at daycare center sought by Carson City detectives

UPDATE: A credible tip surfaced Thursday afternoon regarding the suspect vehicle, a sheriff's office detective said. The vehicle is a tan or beige 2010-2012 Mercedes SUV, with dark tinted windows. The vehicle was without a front license plate and its back plate is possibly California. The vehicle circled the daycare parking lot multiple times, where the suspect then is believed to have parked across the street before entering the victim's vehicle.
