A Carson City woman faces two felony charges after being arrested on a confirmed warrant.
The woman, Leza L. Bulman, was arrested Wednesday at her home in the 200 block of Corbett. She faces a warrant charge of exploiting an elderly person and embezzlement of a person over the age of 60. Both are felonies. Bail was set at $3,000.

Carson City authorities make a number of felony-related arrests

A Carson City man wanted on burglary and grand larceny warrants was arrested early Tuesday morning.

Robert Kenneth Weaver, 44, was taken into custody at about 1:45 Tuesday morning after warrants had been issued by Carson City Justice Court.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of Bowers Lane after it was learned that Weaver was at the location. Officers were allowed inside the home and Weaver was arrested. He is being held on $28,000 bail.

Carson City men face burglary charges after attempting to steal video games, camera at Kohl's

Three Carson City men were arrested after allegedly trying to steal video games and a camera from Kohl's, with one man acting as a lookout using a cell phone while two others attempted to take the property.

Tanner Jordan Rust, 20; Joseph Mills, 18, and Kenneth Burden, 20 were arrested on Tuesday and are in the Carson City Jail. Rust and Mills each face felony attempted burglary charges. Bail was set at $2,500 each. Burden faces a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to burglarize. His bail was also set at $2,500.

Carson City man faces charges after Blockbuster break-in

An unemployed Carson City man faces a felony burglary charge after breaking into Blockbuster Video on East Williams Street last week and taking games and two consoles.

Ryne Mitchell Snoddy, 18, also faces a gross misdemeanor property destruction charge. Bail was set at $25,000.

Carson City men face charges after spraying windows with BBs during shooting spree

Two Carson City men face property destruction charges after allegedly shooting out 13 windows inside a building in the 2800 block of Arrowhead Drive that caused an estimated $5,200 in damage.

Eric Dean Larson, 23, faces a felony property destruction charge as well as being in the possession of a burglary tool, a gross misdemeanor. Garrett Wesley Blackwell, 20, faces a felony property destruction charge, a charge of discharging a firearm into a structure, also a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm.

Three teens arrested after Carson City deputy sees them breaking into cars

Three juveniles are in custody after Carson City authorities found them breaking into vehicles along East Robinson street early this morning.

Two 14-year-old boys and a 17-year-old admitted to the thefts and told officers after they were caught which vehicles they burglarized, said Deputy Thomas McDonald. About a dozen cars were broken into along Robinson Street.

Carson City authorities arrest woman in bank identity thefts; investigators report $100,000 stolen

A California woman who tried to withdrawal $9,100 in the form of a cashiers check at a Carson City US Bank told authorities that she's "tired of the lies" removed a wig she was wearing and confessed to false identity crimes.

Margaret Murdock, 59, of Pleasanton, Calif., faces felony charges of obtaining money by false pretenses, false identification crimes, forgery and burglary. Bank investigators say Murdock may be responsible for about $100,000 stolen in California. Bail is set at $20,000.

Carson City man arrested for felony elder abuse, burglary

A Carson City man faces felony charges after being accused of abusing his estranged wife, breaking into her Airport Road home and stealing a television and jewelry.

Timothy David Harris, 54, was arrested on Saturday for felony elder abuse, misdemeanor violation of a protection order and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail for those charges was set at $24,264.

Carson City man turns himself in after allegedly threatening elderly man with bat, stealing motorcycle

A Carson City man wanted since August by authorities for allegedly wielding a baseball bat and using it to threaten an elderly man after breaking into his home and then stealing a motorcycle, turned himself into police.
Ralph Allen Keith Jr., 24, of Carson City faces four felony charges including robbery against a person 60 years of age or older, home invasion, extortion and grand larceny of a motor vehicle. A warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 15 for the Aug. 29 crime, by the Justice Court of Carson Township.

Carson City authorities arrest man suspected of stealing jewelry for drug habit

Carson City authorities nabbed a man on Monday suspected of stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry from a woman who hired the 23-year-old to do maintenance work around her home on Friday.

With agreement from the victim, officers hid in a closet when they learned the suspect, Kyle Canyon Curtis, had asked to return to the home, in the 2900 block of Poole Lane, presumably to finish the job.

Authorities arrest Carson City man after allegedly stealing laptops

A 66-year-old Carson City man who was recently fired from his computer job, was arrested on Wednesday after he was seen on video surveillance taking laptop computers from his former employer.

Robert Eugene Miller is being held on $25,000 bail.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to Computer Corp in the 6000 block of Highway 50 in reference to a report of a past burglary.
Officer spoke with an employee who said that laptop computers, valued at $1,100, were missing from inside the business on Tuesday.

Carson City DA and sheriff warn of uptick in purse snatching cases

Carson City residents should be on alert following a rash of purse thefts from local businesses, vehicles and government office buildings, District Attorney Neil Rombardo and Sheriff Kenny Furlong said today in a joint news statement.

At least a dozen women’s wallets and purses were stolen from area businesses and vehicles between May and August, according to the statement. Among the thefts include:

— A woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse as she tried on a wedding gown in a South Carson Street bridal store.

Man with baseball bat arrested after allegedly breaking into Carson City home

A Carson City man is in jail and an accomplice is at-large after the men, allegedly wielding baseball bats, broke into the home of an elderly man and stole his grandson's motorcycle.

Frederick Joseph Atherton III, 22, was jailed early Sunday morning. He faces felony charges of robbery of a person over 65 years of age, burglary of a person over 65 years of age and home invasion. Bail is $40,000.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of Airport Road at 1:49 Sunday morning after two men with baseball bats were seen breaking into an apartment.

Carson City mom concerned about car theft uses baby monitor to track thief, son arrested

A Carson City woman who was concerned about car burglaries in her neighborhood used a baby monitor device to track down the thief, only to learn that it was her own son who was allegedly stealing from a vehicle.

According to Capt. Clay Wall of the Carson City Sheriff's Office, there had been a spike in vehicle burglaries during the month of July and investigators learned there were similar patterns being used in the thefts.

Additional charges may be filed in Carson City burglary crime ring

More charges could soon be filed against a Carson City man believed to be involved in a burglary ring that spans over multiple Northern Nevada counties.
Bryan Allen Gaudette, 24, faces five additional felony counts of burglary and is being held in the Carson City Jail on $25,000 bond.
He is currently in custody for other items already recovered in the same case, authorities report.

Today U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) began using a new biometric information sharing capability in Clark County that helps federal immigration officials identify aliens, both lawfully and unlawfully present in the United States, who are booked into local law enforcement custody for a crime.
The capability is part of Secure Communities, ICE’s comprehensive strategy to improve and modernize the identification and removal of criminal aliens from the U.S.

Dozens of burglary victims look for stolen goods at Carson City viewing

Victims by the dozens arrived at the Carson City Sheriff's Office this morning hoping to find what was stolen from them after authorities cracked a burglary ring earlier this month that is believed to have started a year ago.

Sifting through hundreds of items such as iPods, laptops, CDs, DVDs, guns, tools and guitars, many of the victims said they were hopeful they could place positive identifications on what had been taken from them.

Timothy Souza Whitmer, 18, confessed to the burglary on Monday, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report. He is being held on $25,000 bail. A second person in the burglary has not been identified, according to the arrest report.

Carson City man faces felony false imprisonment, burglary and conspiracy charges

A Carson City man faces multiple felony charges after he was arrested without incident on June 18, following crimes allegedly committed on June 16.
Nyle Anthony Silva, 23, is being held on felony burglary, false imprisonment, and conspiracy charges; and misdemeanor battery and violation of bail conditions charges. Bail has been set at $79,000.

According to the arrest report, on June 18 at about 4 a.m. officers responded to the area of David Street and Stewart Avenue attempting to locate Silva, who was wanted by the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the 900 block of East Fifth after dispatch was told there was a man attempting to gain entrance into a home through a window.

A 23-year-old unemployed Carson City woman faces multiple felony charges in connection with a series of thefts associated with paying off a drug dealer.
Bailey Michelle Wilson was arrested on Tuesday at the 3700 block of Hobart Road following an investigation in which the suspect's mother found the stolen items, including jewelry, inside a pawn shop.
Wilson faces felony charges of grand larceny, burglary, obtaining money under false pretenses and possession of stolen property. Bail has been set at $25,000.

Carson City man jailed after allegedly drinking church wine, passing out in pew

A 49-year-old unemployed Carson City man faces a felony burglary charge after allegedly breaking into St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saliman Road this morning, drinking a gallon of wine from the church's refrigerator and then passing out in the pew.
An officer was dispatched to the church at around 8:17 a.m. in reference to a commercial burglary where the suspect was still inside, according to an arrest report. Upon arrival, Carson City deputies found the suspect, Kenneth Carlson, asleep in the church between the pews.

An unemployed Carson City man and a Gardnerville woman face multiple felony charges after they admitted to a string of stolen vehicle thefts and burglaries over the past few days.

Paul Allen Jennings, 39, of Carson City, and Shadine Ford, 24, of Gardnerville, face several felony charges after authorities found the pair hiding in the bushes after admitting they broke into a Carson City home. The pair also told authorities they had been involved in several vehicle burglary and break-ins over the past few days because, they said, they needed the money.

Two Sacramento men face felony burglary charges after they allegedly stole computers earlier this month from Wal-Mart in Carson City, and then returned to the store on Sunday.

Four men were detained after deputies were shown surveillance photos by a Wal-Mart security officer who explained the theft to officers of the computers, valued at $2,694.
