DMV offices in Carson City, statewide open with phased-in limited service

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles reopened its branch offices in the Silver State including Carson City and Reno, which saw brisk business Monday.

Carson City emergency crews responded Thursday afternoon to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the area of Stewart and William streets in which the motorcycle rider fled the scene. He was found later located and detained in the 800 block of North Carson Street.

The Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Mono County, Mineral and Southern Lyon counties, Hawthorne, Yerington, Smith Valley, Mina, Schurz, Fernley, Fallon, Lovelock, Silver Springs, Nixon, and Imlay. Carson City, and Carson Valley are not in the Wind Advisory area.

Wind meter had a gust of 37 mph just about the time the tree went over. That was our main shade for the back yard. Sad."

The motorcyclist was reported to be conscious and walking around but was “hit pretty hard” according to those on scene.
