This afternoon, Aaron Sims announced his candidacy for congress for Nevada’s 2nd congressional district. He held a rally at Mills Park with around 40 people in attendance and talked about a number of important issues to Nevadans including housing, education, criminal justice reform, energy and open spaces. Sims expressed his support for medicare for all as well as Housing First as efforts to ease people struggling in the current economy.

Join us on Saturday, June 12th for the kick-off for the Aaron Sims for Congress campaign. We will be at the amphitheater in front of the Supreme Court building in downtown Carson City. This will be a free event open to the public. We will be providing light refreshments. Ever-popular TMCC political science professor Fred Lokken will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon. Prof. Lokken's presentation will include an assessment of President Biden's first 100 days, prospects for passage of his ambitious agenda, a review of where the legislative session stands going into the final week, and electoral prospects for the all-important 2022 midterms.
