Arson suspect arrested in historic Dayton Fox Hotel fire investigation
On Oct. 13, 2022, the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire at the historic Fox Hotel located at 95 W. Main St. in Dayton.
The Nevada State Police Fire Marshal Division was requested to assist with the criminal investigation. Through a joint investigation conducted by the Nevada State Fire Marshal, CLCFPD and LCSO, Jonah Watson was developed as a suspect.
An arrest warrant was requested through the Lyon County District Attorney and granted by the Dayton Township Justice Court. Investigators served the warrant and arrested suspect Jonah Watson on December 27, 2022.
Watson was booked into the Carson City Detention Facility, then transferred to the Lyon County Jail. His charges include:
One count 1st Degree Arson Two counts 2nd Degree Arson One count 3rd Degree Arson.
