U.S. News & World Report gives top marks to Carson City Prestige Care skilled nursing, rehabilitation center
Carson Tahoe Transitional Rehabilitation Center in Carson City has been named to the list of “Best Nursing Homes of 2024” by U.S. News & World Report.
To be recognized as one of the 2024 U.S. News & World Best Nursing Homes, a center must be considered “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both, based on data from Nursing Home Compare, a resource run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The U.S. News & World methodology factors in data on resident care, safety, outcomes and other aspects of quality. Both short- and long-term ratings include data on nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing ER and hospital visits.
This year, of the 15,007 centers evaluated by U.S. News, only 2,804 (19 percent) met those criteria.
“We are humbled that our center was recognized by U.S. News for the great work that our team members put in day-in and day-out,” said Mike Ball, Carson Tahoe Transitional Rehabilitation Center administrator. “This award is a testament to our team members’ commitment to safe, quality care, and we look forward to continually enhancing all of the care and service we provide.”
