Married Dayton Couple identified as two deceased victims in fatal Carson City crash

A married couple from Dayton was identified as the two deceased victims in the crash in Carson City which resulted in multiple injuries according to the Washoe County Medical Examiner.

70-year-old Tana Powell was pronounced dead on the scene.

Her husband Don Powell, 74, was pronounced dead after arriving at Renown Regional Medical Center by CareFlight.

Multiple helicopters and ambulances were called to the scene due to the extensive injuries suffered by victims of the crash.

The driver of the truck that caused the crash after allegedly pulling a large boat far over the capacity of the truck’s capabilities was jailed with multiple charges related to the crash.

This evening, looking out my back door, I could see that the moon was very bright and cast nice crisp shadows. Today is the full moon for October and the next one will be Nov. 9. As I spied the moon I saw that Jupiter was just above and to the right and was also very clear. Several of Jupiter's moons were also visible.

26-year-old Reid Jensen Williamson was arrested on DUI causing death and hit and run causing death after allegedly fleeing the scene after striking a pedestrian Thursday evening.

The crash took place just after 5 p.m. at S. Stewart and Little Lane, and Williamson was detained at Little Lane and Parkland Avenue just before 6 p.m.

UPDATE 6:25 p.m.: According to the sheriff, it is now known that the victim suffered multiple broken bones and internal damage and is in a serious condition at Renown.
