New art classes offered Fridays at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center
The Brewery Arts Center is adding two new art classes on Friday’s beginning this Friday, Oct. 8 through a new partnership with arts instructor Debbie Corona of the Carson Valley Mobile Art Center.
The youth class is called “Creative Kids” and will be from 3:30 to 5:30 on Fridays and the adult class is a “Paint and Sip” where adults can participate in a guided painting class while learning paint techniques in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The first kids project will be Exquisite Corpse on Friday Oct. 8 it is offered for youth ages 11-17 and on Oct. 15 it will be offered for youth ages 5-10. Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative art project where everyone gets to add their spin. It's a fun project to get started with.
Everyone starts by drawing the head, then passes it to the next person to do the torso, then pass it again for the waist, then to the knees, and finally for the knees down. Once all the "body Parts" are drawn in the person who drew the head gets it back to try and unify the corpse. Everyone uses a different medium for the parts.
Cost is $40 and includes all materials. An apron or clothing you don't mind getting stained would be a good idea for your student. This class will take place in the Zentangle Room (next to the Art Class room) and masks will be required. Space is limited.
The Adult Paint & Sip which will begin this Friday, Oct. 8 will be a guided class where everyone paints the same image “Autumn Bridge”. Beverages are complimentary with your class fee. The time for this class is 7pm to 9:30pm and it will take place in the art classroom. All materials are included in the fee and space is limited.
You can register for both classes on the BAC website, breweryarts.org under the “Classes, Concerts and Events” link.
