NHP: Three jailed in armed robbery of laptops at Carson City area Best Buy
On Monday, September 20, 2021 at approximately 4:13 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers stopped a white 2005 Pontiac G6 sedan that matched the description from an armed robbery that was reported eight minutes earlier at Best Buy in Carson City. The vehicle stopped just west of I-580 on Neil Road in Reno.
The three male adults in the vehicle were subsequently detained. A black handled revolver and two laptops were recovered from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Roderick Soriano (a 36-year-old Reno resident) was arrested on the following charges: driving under the influence (misdemeanor), possession of stolen property (felony) and conspiracy to commit burglary (gross misdemeanor).
The front passenger, identified as Fracisse Tiongco (a 40-year-old Reno resident), was arrested on the following charges: conspiracy to commit burglary (gross misdemeanor), possession of stolen property (felony), two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanors), and failure to obey a court order (misdemeanor).
The rear passenger, identified as Benjamin Calderon (A 46-year-old Nevada resident) was arrested on the following charges: two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon (felonies), conspiracy to commit burglary (gross misdemeanor), possession of stolen property (felony) and failure to obey a court order (misdemeanor). Soriano, Tiongco and Calderon were booked into the Washoe County jail.
