Ready for Nevada Day? Parade entries, decoration contest signups now underway
Nevada Day, Inc. announced Thursday that the applications for parade entries are available online at NevadaDay.com. Parade entrants can complete their application, including float description and commentary for announcers to read when their float goes by.
For those folks who prefer a paper application, and vendors who wish to have a booth at the event, these applications are also available on Nevadaday.com.
Mayor to Judge Decorating Contest
For the first time, Nevada Day, Inc. is hosting a decorating contest for businesses who would like to participate. Any business in the area is welcome to join the festivities by fancying up their facade, just make sure your decor is complete by the last week in October.
This year’s theme, Carnivál on the Comstock, provides ample opportunities to use any color or style to show your Nevada Day spirit. Mayor Lori Bagwell has kindly volunteered to judge the efforts and the winner will receive a banner to hang in their business and, of course, bragging rights.
Any business wishing to participate must register by calling 775-882-2600 or emailing Nevadaday@nevadaday.com. Mayor Bagwell will be judging sometime during the last week of October, the exact day and time will be decided closer to the event. The decor should keep with the parade theme and be family friendly.
