Carson City Fire Department knocks down structure fire at North Carson Street restaurant

Firefighters battling the Dixie Fire near Susanville contended with spot fires Monday evening with the fire having crossed Highway 395  south of Milford, closing  the highway briefly, according to a Cal Fire morning report.

As of Saturday morning at 7 a.m., the Caldor Fire is reported to be at 37 percent contained, burning at 214,107 acres.

Multiple law enforcement agencies have been in South Lake Tahoe since the Caldor Fire started its eastward surge toward the lake. They assisted with evacuations after the orders were issued on Sunday and Monday, and since then have been on neighborhood patrol looking for those who chose to stay in town for nefarious reasons.
