Carson City Fire Department knock down small brush fire off Sunrise and August Drive
UPDATE 7:30PM: A small 20 foot by 20 foot brush fire that started from a burn pile that ignited was quickly extinguished by Carson City firefighters, according to Battalion Chief Micah Horton. There was no reported damage to structures. It is undetermined at this time how the burn pile ignited.

Carson City Fire Department was called at 7 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a brush fire in the area of Sunrise Drive and August Drive, near Arrowhead Drive.
Dispatch reports multiple callers advising of a brush fire that was moving into trees with structures nearby. Carson City Fire Department engines and a brush crew have responded.
At this time we don't have a size-up of the fire and whether or not flames were moving near structures. We will update as more information becomes available.
