Mark Twain Elementary School welcomed students and families for an evening of hands-on learning and creativity during its recent STEM Night, hosted by the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) in partnership with Sierra Nevada Journeys.
The event brought the school community together to explore science, technology, engineering and math through a variety of interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire learning beyond the classroom. Families participated in engaging, hands-on experiences that encouraged collaboration, problem-solving and innovation.

A highlight of the evening included a LEGO building station led by community partner Brick Reboot, where students tapped into their creativity while designing and constructing unique creations.
In addition to STEM activities, the school also featured a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) art project, where students who earned “HAWK feathers” were invited to take part in a guided painting experience led by teachers with art backgrounds. HAWK feathers are a recognition for demonstrating positive behaviors such as being safe, kind, respectful and responsible.

The event showcased Mark Twain Elementary’s commitment to fostering both academic exploration and positive school culture, providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn, create and be recognized for their achievements.
School leaders expressed appreciation to the PTO, Sierra Nevada Journeys, Brick Reboot and all participating families for contributing to a successful and memorable evening.
