Carson City arrests: Man pulls out knife when victim refuses to let him use her cell phone
A 39-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Curtis Mock was taken into custody at 1:31 p.m. Deputies were called to investigated an incident where the suspect approached the victim and asked her if he could use her cell phone.
When the woman said she couldn't let him use her phone, the man brought his hand in front of his abdomen while holding a kitchen knife. He put the knife behind his back and again asked her if he could use her phone at which point she asked him to leave. The man left the scene and was found by deputies.
Officers asked the victim about the incident. She said the suspect didn't swing the knife at her but that she felt threatened and thought the man was going to stab her, the report states.
Deputies looked at video of the incident provided by the Country Store where the incident took place, which showed the suspect holding a knife in his right hand behind his back. As he was talking, he was seen bringing the knife in front of his body and then back beyond his body. The video was booked into evidence. The man was arrested. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of bail conditions.
Stephanie Christine Mullicane was taken into custody at 2:44 a.m. During the investigation, deputies found several small baggies with residue presumed to be methamphetamine and 10.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine in a bag inside her vehicle. Bail: $6,637.
— A 27-year-old Yerington man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of defrauding a proprietor less than $1,200. Bail: $302.
— A 66-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of domestic battery and obstructing and resisting arrest, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
According to the booking report, the man allegedly broke the bedroom door in which his wife and baby were hiding from him. He allegedly hit his wife on the side of the head with his fist, twice, and the back of her head once. The victim had slight redness around the left ear and a broken hair clip in her hair, the report states.
Investigating deputies spoke with the man who stated he did break the door but did not hit his wife. He stated he wanted to get his baby back because she was crying and that his wife wasn't doing anything about it, the report states.
As he was talking with deputies on scene he began walking away from them, and made challenging comments and then charged forth to another room in the house. Deputies chased the suspect who was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery and obstructing an officer. Bail: $3,549.
