Nevada Women's Expo to focus on friends, family and reunion planning

The region's premiere women’s event, The 11th Annual Nevada Women's Expo, will take place on March 23-24 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Local ownership and production by Kristy Hawke and Destinations West, LLC has created an event people can count on year after year. For less than the price of a movie ticket, women throughout our region and beyond make this event an annual tradition to get together with their girlfriends, moms, daughters, aunts, grandmas and grandchildren.

Nevada Women's Expo is documenting the history of reunions at the show by holding a contest for prior attendees for their Nevada Women’s Expo girls’ day out stories in exchange for two free tickets. The deadline for entry on the Nevada Women's Expo Facebook page is March 10.

The stories will be complied for a reunion "scrapbook" online for people to visit year after year. “Since my mom moved to Reno seven years ago, the Women's Expo has become a mom and daughter tradition for us, a tradition we hope to have for many more years to come," says Amy Camp. "The expo is time for us to have fun and have a bond outside of my busy and hectic schedule. We arrive when the doors open and we don't leave until it's over. After the expo we go to the Atlantis for dinner and then we gamble.

"This is one event we look forward to every year. Hanging out with my best gals, soaking in all Reno has to offer women, as well as other locations, while sipping on a mimosa, getting free stuff, buying clothes, sheets, candles, etc and only at a minimal cost? What more could a girl ask for?" said Marissa Gioglio. This year I hope to see a new company and learn something new.”

Nevada Women's Expo makes reunion planning easy. There is free onsite childcare for children ages two through nine years of age on a first-come, first-served basis sponsored by Creative Arts Center. Health screenings are complimentary, provided by Northern Nevada Medical Center. Show schedules and discounts are posted online and before the doors open so ladies can search the names of participating exhibitors to plan their day and to maximize their time at the Expo. Show programs are handed to attendees so they can make sure to take in all the fun, indulgences, education, entertainment and empowerment possible.

There are 200 exhibitors lined up for this year with more registering each day. This show floor is colorful and the atmosphere is non-threatening, embracing women who come for education, motivation, pampering, sampling, health screenings, shopping, entertainment, guest celebrities, volunteer or job opportunities, prizes and a day out for themselves.

Special guest Peter Facinelli also known as “Dr. Carlisle Cullen” of the "Twilight Saga" fame will be attending the expo on Saturday, March 23. Facinelli will participate in a VIP Meet and Greet starting at 12:30 p.m. with the first 50 people who pre-register and present to donate blood at the expo between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.

Attendees can pre-register to donate blood at www.bloodhero.com and enter sponsor code WomensExpo or by calling 775-324-6454. Facinelli will be on hand for professional picture taking with fans from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for only $15.00 per picture taken by the show photographer. Space is limited and pre-registration is highly recommended at www.NevadaWomensExpo.com. Facinelli will be available to autograph attendee’s books, DVDs and other items at no charge, as time allows. Schedule is subject to change.

The Nevada Women’s Expo hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Downloadable coupons are currently at www.NevadaWomensExpo.com and Whole Foods’ shoppers can save their receipts for “two-for-one” admission, which can be presented at the Expo ticket window. For more details on limited vendor booths, presentations, and a current list of vendors see the expo website at www.NevadaWomensExpo.com or call Kristy Hawke at 775-750-0841.
