Carson City arrests: Juvenile in custody after 2 teens stabbed; man booked for home invasion

Two teen juveniles were stabbed in an incident Sunday. The suspect, also a juvenile in their teens, is in custody, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant.
The incident was reported at 12:24 p.m. in the 900 block of Woodside Drive. The incident happened over an online dispute, CCSO Sgt. TJ Boggan said. The condition of the two mid-teen juveniles who were stabbed is unknown at this time. They were taken by ground ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The matter remains under investigation. In other bookings:
— A 40-year-old man, Freddie Lee Shelby III, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony home invasion and a misdemeanor outside agency warrant.
According to the booking report, deputies were called Friday, March 1 to the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive for a report of a man who entered an apartment that had been boarded up.
According to the arrest report, the reporting party advised the man forcibly entered the apartment. When deputies arrived they observed plywood was removed from the sliding door, and that a door handle and lock were removed and a door frame was destroyed.
Deputies made access into the apartment and officers received video footage and photos of the suspect and were able to get a detailed description of the suspect.
On Saturday, deputies conducted a followup and saw footprints in the snow that were seen leaving the apartment. Also tampering was done on a sliding glass door. Officers saw the apartment was clear, but noticed the smell of a freshly smoked cigarette.
The officer also observed residual smoke throughout the apartment. The smoke, paired with the fresh footprints made, had deputies believe the suspect was nearby in the area, the report states.
Deputies attempted to locate the suspect. He was found in the 3300 block of North Carson Street. Officers recognized the suspect seen in the video footage and pictures and were able to identify him as Freddie Shelby III. He was booked for suspicion of felony home invasion and a warrant for his arrest out of Douglas County. Bail: $25,000 for the home invasion offense, and $5,000 cash only for the outside agency warrant.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday for suspicion of domestic battery and probation violation.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to the area of North Plaza and East Telegraph for a report of a man kicking a female on the ground. It was reported by a witness who wished to remain anonymous. The witness stated they heard the female yell for help.
Officers arrived and made contact with the female who stated she was at a bar with her husband; that she wanted to wanted to leave and had walked out of the bar to the vehicle. Deputies learned the man became angry and shoved her to the ground and would not let her stand up.
Officer learned that while the woman was she was on the ground, the man kicked her on the left side of the abdomen and she was unable to stand. She yelled for help and the man then left the scene.
Deputies observed the woman's makeup running down her face and she had a scrape on her right elbow. The officer observed in the snow that her right side had been down on the ground. The woman was also bleeding.
Officers located the suspect nearby. He was read his Miranda rights, which he invoked, and refused to speak, the report states.
An anonymous witness interviewed stated he observed the victim on the parking lot ground in the snow with the man standing over her. The witness stated he saw the man kick the woman and heard her scream. The witness provided a written statement.
The suspect was booked for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and probation violation. $3,000 cash.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested March 1 in the area of East Nye and Mayflower for misdemeanor suspicion of suspicion of DUI, eluding a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation.
According to the booking report, a deputy was dispatched to the area of East Nye and Airport Road for a subject who was seen not moving for approximately 20 minutes inside a vehicle.
The officer arrived and observed a Cadillac with the man inside. The officer observed the man was slumped over the wheel with drool coming out of his mouth. The officer shouted numerous time and identified himself as a sheriff's deputy attempting to get a response.
The male remained unresponsive. The officer opened the driver side door and tapped on the male's chest. The vehicle running, the man woke up and accelerated, leaving the officer, according to the report.
The officer entered their patrol vehicle, activated their siren and followed the vehicle, which was traveling at a slow speed and wouldn't stop. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, having made a right-hand turn into Mayflower Way.
The officer observed the man to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. He was taken into custody for eluding and taken to jail, where standardized field sobriety tests were agreed to and conducted. The man showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .183. He later consented to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $3,000 cash for the alternative sentencing violation, $1,000 for DUI and $500 for eluding.
