A 45-year-old transient man was arrested for felony arson after allegedly starting a brush fire.

On Thursday, deputies were dispatched to an open field at the intersection of N. Lompa and Menlo Dr. on report of an active brush fire with what appeared to be a homeless man who had started it, according to the arrest report.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will take place Thursday May 5, 2022 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Bob Crowell Board Room at the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Richard Stokes, retiring superintendent of the Carson City School District, will pass the superintendent torch to Andrew Feuling this July 1, 2022. The school board of trustees voted unanimously, 7-0, to offer the contract for superintendent to the district’s current fiscal services director at the April 6 special session school board meeting.
