Carson City area gaming revenue down slightly in December, tumbles 35.35 percent statewide

Gaming revenue at Carson City area casinos fell by 1 percent in December, and 14 percent at south shore Lake Tahoe, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden and other areas of Douglas County except for Stateline at Tahoe, had a combined gaming revenue, also called "gaming win" of $9,222,068 for December, compared to $9,318,611 in December 2019, a decrease of 1.04 percent.

At south shore Lake Tahoe in Douglas County, casinos had a "gaming win" amounting to $15,611,574 for the month, down 14.08 percent from December 2019. North Lake Tahoe casinos in Washoe County saw a sharp decline of 32.58 percent compared to December 2019 figures.

Casinos in Reno were down 15.84 percent and Sparks, 5.70 percent, and in the rest of Washoe County, 11.8 percent.

The Las Vegas strip, was down by more than half, 50.66 percent, compared to December 2019.

Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $683,733,423 for the month of December 2020. This amounts to a 35.35 percent decrease compared to December 2019, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,057,539,090.

For the fiscal year (July 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2020), gaming win has decreased 24.04 percent.

A 61-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday at 7:07 p.m. near the intersection of College Pkwy and Nye Ln. for misdemeanor DUI first offense, unlawful method of turn, and drive on right required. Total bail: $1,341.

According to the arrest report a CCSO deputy on patrol observed a vehicle make a very wide turn, left of center before correcting to the right side of the roadway. The vehicles license plate light was not functioning and the driver did not signal the turn.
