Pair arrested by Carson City deputies for methamphetamine possession, driving into traffic

A 61-year-old Washoe Valley woman and a 35-year-old Washoe Valley man were arrested in the area of E. William Street for possession of a controlled substance, Department of Alternative Sentencing violations, and wrong way driving.
According to the report, Judith Ward Tribon and Miles Ray Dodd were arrested Thursday afternoon by Special Enforcement Team deputies who were investigating complaints of open-air drug use/sales, public intoxication and other “street-level” crimes as part of the Downtown Enforcement Detail.
Deputies observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Carson Street, south of Robinson Street, which drove into oncoming traffic in order to park in one of the parallel spaces, facing south.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Tribon, pulled her vehicle up to a van, spoke with another motorist briefly, and then left, pulling again into oncoming traffic before continuing northbound on Carson Street.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and noted immediately that the vehicle smelled of alcohol, and the woman admitted to drinking one alcoholic beverage at a local casino.
Deputies also spoke with the passenger, identified as Dodd, who was on supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing and had a condition not to possess drugs.
K-9 Deputy Ivo was dispatched to the scene, who conducted a free-air exterior sniff around the vehicle. Ivo alerted to the presence of drug odor at the passenger side of the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle deputies located 2.5 grams of methamphetamine inside a baggie under the passenger seat cover where Dodd had been sitting.
Following a field sobriety test, Tribon was determined to not be impaired. However, she admitted to being a user of methamphetamine, but denied the methamphetamine in the vehicle belonged to her. She stated that others had access to the vehicle, but was not sure where the methamphetamine came from.
DAS also requested additional charges on Dodd for a violation of his conditions.
Both were taken into custody.
Bail for Judith Ward Tribon: $2,617
Bail for Miles Ray Dodd: $3,500; $1,000 cash only
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Carson Street and E. Long Street for possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
According to the report, deputies arrested the man after patrolling in the area of N. Carson Street when they observed a man riding a bicycle southbound on the sidewalk on the east side of Carson Street at Long Street.
Deputies activated their emergency lights and stopped the man for riding on the sidewalk.
The man told deputies he did not have any identification when he was asked, and when asked if he had anything on his person he shouldn’t, he said no but they could search him if they wanted to.
Deputies located a single, unopened single dose of Buprenorphrine and Naloxone Sublingual Film in a pocket bible which was located in his right, back pocket.
The man told deputies that he didn’t know the medication was in there because he was carrying the bible for his female friend. When asked if he had a prescription, he said no, it didn’t belong to him and he didn’t know it was in the bible.
Deputies took the man into custody. As they were booking him into detention, the man informed deputies he had a small amount of marijuana in the sock of his left foot. Inside the sock deputies collected 4.2 grams of marijuana.
Bail: $2,500
— A 54-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a warrant for violation of a suspended sentence, issued from the Carson City Municipal Court on June 20.
According to the report, deputies were sent to a residence on a report of a woman making suicidal statements over the phone.
Deputies located the woman, who denied being suicidal, and said she was just frustrated talking with the Department of Education for her daughter’s student loan.
She was taken into custody on the warrant without issue.
Bail: $1,000 cash only
