Carson City sheriff's investigators arrest man for multiple warrants including luring a child
A 36-year-old man wanted for multiple felony warrants including luring a child, contempt of court and is a suspect in a burglary case was taken into custody Sunday after law enforcement learned where he was hiding, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
The Carson City Special Enforcement Team had been recently searching for Joshua Harrison, who has multiple felony warrants, including a Carson City District Court felony warrant, parole and probation felony warrant, Lyon County contempt of court felony warrant for luring a child and he is also a suspect in Douglas County commercial burglary case.
On Saturday, Dec. 30, Carson City Special Enforcement detectives gathered information that Joshua Harrison was living in the hills in a tent near Sierra Vista Lane near Carson River Road.
CCSO detectives gathered information that Harrison may be in possession of a firearm and there were also recent shots fired calls in the direct area of where he was possibly staying, according to the release.
Throughout the evening of Saturday and Sunday, a search was conducted for Harrison.
On Sunday, the Carson City Special Enforcement Team and general detectives with the assistance of the drone team, Patrol Division and Carson City Fire Department launched a search into the hills near the Carson River for Joshua, the release states.
All-terrain vehicles were utilized in locating Harrison. At approximately 4 p.m., drone operators located a man that appeared to be Harrison in the hills off of Sierra Vista Lane in close proximity to a tent.
As detectives made an approach, Harrison began running up the canyon and after a short foot pursuit, Harrison was located hiding under a bush, according to the release. Harrison was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Carson City Jail for the above listed charges and obstructing a peace officer.
