United Federal Credit Union staff pay It forward to help families, Carson City Project Santa Claus
United Federal Credit Union was pleased to donate $1,055 to local families and organizations across northern Nevada during the 2016 Pay It Forward initiative. As part of the Pay It Forward program, UFCU provides $15 to every employee to give to a needy individual, family, or organization of their choice. Many times departments and branches combine funds to create a more substantial donation.
Employees in Reno, Sparks, and Carson City, Nevada raised money to benefit local families — some dealing with medical or financial difficulties — as well as a variety of institutions that help local children and animals like the Kids Kottage emergency shelter, the Canine Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary, and the Nevada Humane Society in Reno, and Project Santa Claus in Carson City.
“I want to thank the team in Nevada for their outstanding generosity,” said UFCU President/CEO Terry O’Rourke. “We cannot make this type of impact on our communities without their dedication and passion for service and helping others, not just during the Pay It Forward initiative, but every day of the year.”
In 2016 through the Pay It Forward initiative, UFCU collectively donated more than $11,500 to 34 different individuals and community organizations across the six states where branches are located.
