Bethlehem Lutheran School announces Geography Bee winner
Nathan Tack, a sixth grader, defended his title from last year and won the school-level competition of the National Geography Bee on Dec. 20, 2018.
His win over eighth grader Hayden Steyn, who finished second, qualifies him for a chance at an eventual first place prize of a $50,000 scholarship.
Nathan must now complete a State Bee Qualifying Examination and score well enough to move on to the State level of competition to be held on March 29, 2019 in Las Vegas.
Nathan competed against the top two finalists from each grade 4-8.
The National Geographic Society will provide an all-expense- paid trip to Washington, D.C. for the state champions and their teacher-escorts to participate in the National Geography Bee National championship on May 19-22, 2019.
