Former Assemblyman Richard “Skip” Daly Announces Run for State Senate District 13

Former State Assemblyman and Northern Nevada Labor Leader Richard “Skip” Daly has announced that he will run for the State Senate in District 13.
A lifelong resident of Northern Nevada and the Business Manager for the Laborers' Union Local 169, Daly has been a champion for workers’ rights. During his time in the State Assembly, Daly helped fight to pass equal pay for equal work, raise the minimum wage, expand voting rights, and protect a workers’ right to collectively bargain.
“As a labor leader and former member of the Nevada Assembly, my record of fighting for working families is clear. Now, I want to continue that fight in the State Senate,” said Richard ‘Skip’ Daly.
He continued, “Families in Northern Nevada need someone to stand up and make sure we get our fair share. Whether it be funding for our schools, accessing health care that is affordable, or creating good-paying jobs right here in Northern Nevada, I am ready for the task.”
“I am happy to endorse my former Assembly colleague, Skip Daly and his candidacy in Senate District 13,” said Assemblywoman Teresa Benitez-Thompson. She continued, “Skip has always been a strong advocate for our community and his voting record reflects that.”
“For decades, Skip Daly has fought hard for Northern Nevada families, both as a leader in the labor movement and a member of the State Assembly,” said Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro.
She continued, “In the State Senate, he will continue to be a passionate advocate for working Nevadans. Senate Democrats are ready to get to work and ensure that Northern Nevada sends Assemblyman Skip Daly to the State Senate.”
