Capital City Community Band hosts Dec. 3 free holiday band concert
The Capital City Community Band, under the direction of Nick Jacques, will tie a big red bow around 2023 by presenting our annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. This free concert will take place in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center.
Enjoy seasonal favorites, marches, and patriotic music played by our 50-member band. The concert will feature both traditional and newer holiday songs, including Christmas Scrapbook, Home Alone Christmas, Deck The Halls, Farandole, and of course, Sleigh Ride.
In addition, the Carson High School Chamber Singers will join the band in performing the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah, and in Hymn To the Fallen, which is from the movie "Saving Private Ryan" and is our tribute to Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Day.
This concert is perfect for the whole family and is a great way to begin your holiday season. And it is free!.Donations are happily accepted.
The Capital City Community Band was founded in 1978 by Richard Doede as a venue for adult musicians in which to perform. Many of the members played in high school, college, and beyond, professionally; others began playing as adults. All of the members, including the director and soloists, perform without monetary compensation. We just enjoy sharing our music with others and hope you enjoy our efforts.
Please join us in welcoming the Holiday Season on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023.
