Carson City Lions Club hosts 'Peace Poster Contest' for middle school students
The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce the Lions International Peace Poster Contest is now open for local entries.
The Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11 to 13, to creatively express what peace means to them. The 2022-2023 contest theme is “Lead with Compassion.” The contest winner at the local level will receive a $50 stipend and will move up to the District level for further competition.
The International Grand Prize Winner receives a trip to an award ceremony where he/she will receive $5,000 and an award. 23 merit award winners will also be selected and each will receive $500.
The deadline for entries is October 31, 2022. Entries may be dropped off at the Boys and Girls Club, 1870 Russell Way, Carson City.
Students who will be 11, 12, or 13 years old by November 15th are encouraged to sign up for the contest. Just contact the Lions Club directly by calling (775) 301-5076, leave a message and a Lion will call you back. Students who sign up will be given a flyer with contest rules and conditions.
